GAZA, (PIC)– The Gaza electricity company warned that one of its electric generating units would stop on Friday or Sturday if the Israeli authorities did no allow in additional quantities of fuel needed to operate the station.
The company’s director Suhail Sakik said that the amount of electricity distributed to the networks in Gaza would shrink if this unit stopped and thus number of power outages would increase in light of the shortage of fuel.
Sakik pointed out that the power station needs about 3, 200 liters of fuel every week instead of 2,200 in order to keep the tree units operational.
He appealed to the concerned parties and the European union to pressure Israel to resolve the crisis of fuel needed to operate the station.
